    Default Helix 7 shutting off

My Helix 7 runs for a while and shuts down. It won't come back on with the power button unless you unplug the power and plug back up. It only starts to come on but will shut off before completely restarts. When it is restarting it will fade to black.

Someone else posted a question similar to this last week, your issue is how I had an answer. I had the same problem with oneof the first di units HB made. In a hurry to try it out, I wired it while on the lake and grounded to the boat like a fool. Ground loss was the problem. Once the unit tried to power up completely(not just HB logo) it would shut down or restart. Check your ground!!!

It's not the battery because the motor cranks good, my Helix 9 is on the same battery and works ok. It will work for an hour or so before it shuts down like it is getting hot.

Not the battery. One of the connections to the battery. A loose connection will cause it to get hot. Mine was the ground.

I had an issue with a Helix 10 Mega unit doing same. I knew my wiring was good. My motor cranked just fine spending whole day on water. My unit was doing same as yours. Had my battery checked and it checked good......took it to 2 more places and it checked bad.....replaced battery and all has been well since. If you know the wiring is correct.......proper gauge.......good connections......would take good look at battery.

My Helix 10 mega did the same thing,,,, I ended up turning off wRning voltage all together after replacing, fixing multiple wiring and such,,,, If it drops below 12.5 volts it turns on warning,, period,,, so I just turned off warning voltage meter,,,

You can change the voltage alarm level. Solix turns off at 10v so our warning is set to 10.5
