    I went Sat. and it shut down in 30-45 minutes. I moved my Helix 9 up there and it worked fine all day, so it isn't the wiring.

    Did you try hooking it up where the 9 came from to see what it would do?

    Try that and see how long it stays up. If it does the same thing there I'd say you have a bad circuit board that once it heats up it opens a circuit. If it comes on and stays up I'd say you have a connection problem with your power cord to this unit.

    I got a helix 12 after 2 months installed it would come on but it would not go past boot up screen had to send to h bird the card reader was bad works great now
    Roll Tide Roll with a crappie on a pole!

    What size wire do u recommend for a Helix 10 about a 10 foot run. thanks

    HB recommends 14guage ...

    12 is better - I use 10 ...

    Upcharge in wire Gauge is minimal ...
