1197 freezing not getting all views
usually I can research and find my answers. My 1197 has worked without a hitch since 2011. In March I updated to 6.640, when I went out in April the GPS did not work and the interlink did not show on it or the 798 on the bow. I got another interlink appeared to try to sync fine then froze. The interlink works fine on the 798. I have lost temp on the 1197, tried with two different transducers. I do not get my map page or snapshot page. Sometimes it freezes going through the views, sometimes on menu items. I have tried backing up two levels of software up date. Is it fried or? Thanks

Both units have the latest update when networked if one is updated and the other unit has an older version they do not play well.

Thanks for the ideas. Will try the "reboot" power only. Both units running 6.3 software, the interlink talks just having GPS type issues, have speed, and coordinates but no chart or waypoints, shares stored points with interlink.. just will not participate. Freezes up, sometimes on view sometimes in menu.....

Took out map card, got power only plug, powered on restored defaults. Same thing everything works great except chart view and way points. Speed, coordinates all good. Tried two different pucks.....Guess I just have a SI/DI without chart? When I try to scroll views it locks at the same place each time, think that is when chart is trying to come up, it freezes the entire system.Originally Posted by rnvinc

Try hiding Bird's Eye View also ...
I've read reports of it causing Gremlins ...

Thanks, yep it would freeze on Bird's Eye also, hid it, freezes when I try to view any chart, need a Gremlin trap

Tried with and without map card. It would actually display birds eye view and freeze, it will not even display a chart, if I disable all other views it gives me a blank screen and freezes.

Well, after trying numerous tricks and ideas, from Here, sideimaging.com, Ozark Anglers and BBC the miracle happened. I put it in simulator mode tried to restore defaults ....again, it froze, restarted again and tried it worked, restarted and was able to get into way points and delete all nav data restarted and shazam it worked. I am so happy. Going to clear the interlink and 798 before hooking up. Now I need to look at my download in Humminbird PC see if I can see bad way point or route. Thanks to EVERYONE for the helps.
