    Sorry, I should clarify.
I understand 360 will have the longest range (distance from the boat), 2D is next, and then DI. If I understand 360 correctly, it's SI that spins in a constant circle, like a radar image.
As for quality of the returns/image. DI is superior to 2D for image clarity, detail of information. Will the 360 give better detail than DI, does 360 fall between DI and 2D, or does its level of detail fall below that of 2D?

We decided not to plow this year. The last 5 years weren't real profitable and the gear maintenance was exceeding the return. To be honest, I don't miss it. The money was nice at times, but it seemed like we were always plowing over night, then off to the day job. Made for long days. Many a days it felt like I was in a boat. The constant rocking back and forth while plowing is like being in a boat. Takes a long time to get your land legs back when your rest meter is on E.

I would be reluctant to put 2d in an image quality lineup with any of the imaging Sonar technologies ... 2d is a cartoon image representation of echo data and should be best versed against maybe 2d CHIRP for quality standings ...

In the imaging Sonar technologies, and only using the 1 criteria of image detail quality - I would rank as SI / then DI / then 360 ...

Which begs the question. Will they upgrade 360 to match the next level of sonar units (Helix/Solix/Onix)?
Already upgraded sonar, gps, trolling motor, leave 360 for the next upgrade. Could you imagine a CHIRP MEGA 360?

No "leaks" yet as pertaining to new HB releases ...

Whisperings of Lowrance and Garmin new stuff this year ...

And Raymarine leaks of continued imaging improvements ...

I have down and 2d sonar but mainly use down image to confirm way points . I rarely fish anything not already marked . When I spider rig I just follow drop/contour lines .
