Question Crappie at Caesar's Creek

Asked a few weeks ago about fishing for crappie at Caesar's Creek and no replies. Does anyone fish here for crappie? Wanting to give it a try and was just curious if this is a prime crappie spot. Hope to hear from some of you. I will give a report after this weekend.

It can be a tough lake in August and September for crappie. It's got both white and black; the lake can be very clear and the boat traffic can be terrible. I've heard it's the 2nd busiest lake in Ohio right after Alum and I believe it. Lots of standing timber and laydowns, but it's only fair at best for crappie.

Default Thanks for the Caesar's Creek Info

Thanks for replying, even though it wasn't too encouraging.

I generally only fish Ceasars a few times a year at most. For the limited knowledge I have I do okay but others do much better.

As fished-out said it can be tough but it has some nice fish for those who take the time to learn it. The reason I don't go there too much isn't the fish but as fished-out pointed out, it's the boat traffic. If I were going to go, I would probably look around some open lake structure, humps and drop offs. I used to catch a few pretty nice crappies looking for the eyes a few years ago. I'd also look around some of the lakes shores for underwater brush down to maybe 18'-20', stuff not visible without electronics.

Good luck if you go and post some results on your trip.
