Default Fish, It's Whats For Dinner!

Picked up a few is morning at Harsha and made it home by noon.. I must of found a condo today in 14 fow.. All these came off a spot no larger than my kitchen table.. Headed to Brookville for the next few weeks so check the Indiana board out to watch my progress on trying to find the elusive Brookville perch... Heres a pic of the one that weren't so lucky today:

No way you could have found a condo at East Fork...no one would ever dare sink anything in an Ohio lake. They are really hitting pretty well at EF right now if you are willing to look for them a little. I hope to get out once or twice this week, maybe Wednesday or Thursday evening if all goes as planned. Those are some nice looking slabs there Jusfshn. Did you get them pullin' cranks?

Speckwick, I've got the pulling fever right now.... Some of them came from pulling and then I slowed down and pitched jigs on the sweet spot.. Bye the way, WM Cranks are on sale for $2.99 at BP...

Our methods couldn't be much more different, but they both seem to work. I have tried trolling and pushing, not really given pullin much of a chance yet. I have been doing well with a slip bobber and minnow. Simple, but it has worked great this summer. BnM 10 foot Sam Heaton Super Sensitive rod, 1" pear slip float from Comal tackle(cheap and unbeatable float for crappie), a 1/0 aberdeen gold hook and a #7 split shot pinched a few inches above the hook. Medium minnows. I flip and pitch the float rigs against standing timber, along laydowns, and especially above and around submerged stumps. I don't stay in one spot for too long unless the slabs are really stacked in tight. I try to cover as much water and hit as many spots as I can, then come back to the good ones. That's not to say I hit every tree. I have a good number of trees and spots that have been producing this year and I make a run of them depending on what the fish are doing from day to day. I guess it's kinda trolling.... one rod style. Biggest thing is I can buy two dozen minnows for the price of that one WM crank that I will inevitably leave on a stump.
