Question Spawning done???

We had been doing good at Rocky Fork and Paint Creek till this past bad weather .The last trip out caught mostly smaller males in a little bit deeper water .I dont know if it was because of the drop in water temps or has the spawning peaked ? Any thoughts???

I don't think the spawn is done most places. This back and forth weather and the rising and falling water a lot of the lakes have been going through makes it tough to tell. East Fork is flooded again. Nowhere near as bad as earlier this year....yet, but I'm getting tired of rain none the less. The water temps just haven't been stable for any extended period at all. I'm almost ready to say the heck with spring and bring on summer. At least then we could get somewhat stable weather.

I don't think they are done just yet in most places around here. I have seen years where the peak of the crappie spawn took place on Memorial day weekend and I think the holiday weekend is a little early this year.

Not done over here in N/W PA. I was out sunday and caught a lot that still had eggs and the males turned black as soon as they hit the livewell.

Last year I was still catching some females with eggs in the 2nd week of June.

This year, who knows but I wouldn't think so. Crazy water levels, cool temps probably have things running a little later. I've only been out twice this year, but thats going to change this weekend.

Hey crappiemax, I'm gonna be on East Fork Saturday evening myself. Maybe I'll see you out there. Unfortunately I can't get out till around 6:00 in the evening due to some prior obligations, but that's okay. Those last couple hours before dark have been good to me. No better time of day in the spring as far as I'm concerned. I'll be the bald guy in the Tracker with a Southern Pro sticker on the windshield.

SpeckWick, I'm going to TRY and fish 2 of the next 3 days. Where do you launch at?
If I can make it I will. My luck hasn't been too good lately, tonight I cut my little finger and severed a tendon. Tomorrow morning I have to take my boat to work and get a cracked welded on my trailer.
I have a blue F150 and a white Tracker Pro V17, what little hair I have needs to be cut.

I'll be launching at the dam(Slade Road). Likely around 6:30. I will probably not be fishing that side of the lake though. I plan to head towards the Bethel side and fish from the wake zone there by the old road bed towards Poplar and Clover Creeks. I might poke around the coves by the dam if nothing is going on there. I plan to get out a couple times this coming week too, maybe early Monday morning if the boss(aka my wife) will allow it. Good luck if you do get out. I'll keep my eyes open for ya.
