Default Is this legal???

Me and the guys were sitting here talking about putting out structure. Some of the guys I work with say its illegal to put out structure in the state of Alabama. Does anyone have any insight on this?

This is what the last paragraph had to say, "Do not place any type of fish attractor in public waters unless permission has been obtained from the appropriate hydropower corporation or the waters’ designated responsible party." Oh well , I guess Ill put them out at night.

by Crappie.com !! We prefer that our sportsmen/women follow the letter of the law, even when they don't agree with it.

Contact the appropriate department, and ask them what the law is for whatever lake you want to sink cover in. I don't think there's a fee for the permit. I think it's a matter of "what" you're wanting to put "where", on this lake, and whether or not it would constitute a health or boat traffic hazard.

permission is usually granted they want to make the structures don't cause boating problems or other problems.

a buddy of mine asked a game warden this question a couple years back and he told us that dropping structure is fine as long as it wasnt in a marked channel. that's the rule of thumb i've gone by since then.

Hardly no one puts out structure here where I live. My house is on the way to the boat launch and in the 17 years I have lived there I can count on one hand how many people have driven by with a boatload of stuff. And only once have I seen anyone with anything pvc. Most of the crappie fishermen here start about January and beat the hotspots to death til the fish move back out. I want more than this. Im tired of bass fishin and want to put out some stuff so me and my boys can fish for crappies year round. If I were to start putting out stuff now, what would be my target area? As of right now the deep bite has tapered off. 3 weeks ago they were in 30ft of water suspended over structure at about 20 feet. That bite has fell way off. Being new to this I really dont know what there fall pattern is. Should I put this stuff deep or should I start preparing for fall?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ledges in the first 1/3 of creeks would be a good area to start
