How long do you fish a condo or brush pile before you move to the next one? Five minutes, 10, 30? Of course you stay as long as your catching but when you get no or a few fish and then nothing. I've seen some guys sit there floating corks and eating chicken for hours. My brother calls it "bucket-o-chicken fishin".

when I'm over them I like to have my fish finder on and if I see fish there I will almost fish it until I catch one unless it's longer than 30 minutes. Well I guess no longer than 30 minutes after the last bite too if I been smokin them.

I'd say 30 minutes also. It takes time to see where the fish are located on the structure, north side, south side etc. Sometimes they are on the windy side, sometimes on the shady side. Every day is different on the water.

If the fish are there and biting, I will stay till it slows WAY down, but I would never sit more than 15 minutes without catching another. maybe not 5 minutes. As they say, there are a lot of fish in the sea. If the crappie are biting slow, I might give it 15-20......and I might start running a bunch of spots till I find them.

I am a 10 minute man myself. I helped the corp sink brush last year and it does not take long to check a brush pile that is 6 foot square and 8 foot tall. They put out a lot single piles built around crates. I grab the active fish and move on to the next one. If the area is bigger I might spend more time. I wanted to check with you guys that build and fish a lot of structure. How many fish will a 4 foot crate with brush sticking out the sides and going 6 to 8foot high hold?

depends on where it is put and the time of the year. on a spawning flat, in 7 feet of water, april , could have 3, could have 53.... february, mouth of a cove, 12 foot deep, maybe 10-20...november, 3 foot deep, windy , shad all over it, could be 100. it just depends. put in 50 and if you get 10 GOOD ones, put in 50 more. sometimes they will surprise you. No more than 10min. without catching at least 1 fish. I use crappie nibbles and it takes a minute to get them stired up, but once you catch 1 you'll useually catch more if you're on them.
