I was thinking about putting some attractors around a bridge piling where I catch just a few fish. Hoping an attractor would make the piling a little better.
I thought about using pvc with the cut up buckets so when other people fish the piling they might never know the attractor is there. If they are not lucky enough to catch one maybe they won't wear out the spot.
Is an attractor by a bridge too much of a good thing or a good idea?
Seems like a good place, but a place a lot of people would fish. Remember, even tho the chances are slim to none, periodically divers inspect the bridge pilings, would hate for one to get hung up in that stuff.
That's one reason I was thinking pvc. Very little weight to pvc and the concrete should hold it even with current.
What about the bamboo Crappie condo? They work great in all sorts of situations here in AR, flowing waters and still ones also. 80 lb of crete will hold just about anything in place for quite a while.

Might try that. I have access to some boo. 80 lb is too heavy for me though, I sink brush by myself. I had to learn the hard way how heavy to make the brush piles and most are still too heavy.
with the boo, just roll the bucket off the front of boat and it will right itself, will be upright before getting completely underwateras far as by yourself, sounds like you need a fishin' partner with muscles.

My questions is, would the current make it difficult to place (and stay)?
Boo is plenty bouyant when green. I'd think that if you were placing it in current you might want to go a bit overboard on the weight. I like how boo looks on the depth finder but I think I'd stick with PVC in current and save the boo for the backwaters. It's more work and would probably pay off better there. Just my 2 cents...
Yes boo is too easy to find to put by a bridge really. I might try Ernest's idea of tying off 50' and drop one though. I don't think most people would find it that way.
I've dropped a lot of boo and rolling it off is about how I do it. Can't roll it on though.
Something to think about..
are there cross pieces connecting the pillings underwater ? On my
home lake , there are concrete beams connecting some of the pilings about
8-10 ft under the water depending on lake level. Most people fish the
pililings and don't know or forget about the cross pieces. If you drape
something over the cross piece. It will not be as obvious as brushing a
piling.
