Default PVC versus Brush

Which is better for creating cover? I know the pvc will last longer, but which attracts more fish?

Default Brush

I put out some pvc condo 2 years ago with very little luck....
But the christmas trees have filled the cooler many times....

I tie a 2.5 gal jug on top of these and put the length of rope I want the condo off the bottom and attach a concrete block to hold in place....

Nice looking condos...sorry to hear they didn't pull in the fish like you want. My experience has been exactly the same. I've put out aLOT of pvc condos since I have access to pvc...with hit and miss success. My brush piles that I threw together (just piled up limbs and such on the ice and wired and weighted them down) produce much, much better.

My wooden stakebeds and brush out produce my PVC . I use hardwood or Red Cedar wood for stake beds and condos almost exclusively these days. When I sink brush or trees ,it's almost always Persimmon.

Brush will out produce pvc, no question. I built 25 of the pvc condos last year and haven't caught that many crappie out of them. The bamboo and cedar condos I have put in the lake consistently produce good numbers/size fish.

Have not had the best luck with PVC but stakebeds and brushpiles produce real well. I also favor green cane bed condos with the leaves still on. They seem to lose their ability to hold fish after the next year and they have lost their leaves. JMO
