Default corps of engineers lakes

well i found out that corps of engineers lakes will let you put out condos. as many as you want in any place. i phoned the corps of engineers and they gave me a number for a local DNR office and i talked to a woman who is sending me a permit to put them out. the only reason for the permit is to show anyone who may ask what i am doing that i have permission from the DNR. just thought you all might want to know.

WOW!!!!! thats great news!! i wonder if virginia is the same way? at least someone is getting a straight answer. as for virginia i cannot get a definitive answer. the closest i got to an answer was that yes go get the permit but..... it will have to be approved by, vdgif , dnr, city, state, local authorities, and the governing body over the body of water you want to put them in. corp. of engineers at john h. kerr. basically ...yes be my geust waste all the time you would like but... don't expect to get anywhere with it. no one has called back from the corp. of engineers though ..that might be a good thing.

You have to get permsion for whatever lake you wish to put structure in. Most will let you but it's up to who (owns) or runs the body of water you're on. We don't have to have a permit in Texas just verbal permision.

The lakes owned by Norfolk Virginia water works forbid anything added. This includes Lake Smith, Lake Whitehurst, Little Creek (Virginia Beach attached to Lake Smith), Lake Prince, Western Branch Res and Lake Burnt Mills (still closed until the dam is fixed).

i have been putting structure in lakes in alabama since 1982. i have never asked for permission. i have built a few not as many as a lot of local guys. i have some buddies that have built several hundred brush piles. one even had a construction barge that dumped out the belly put in one lake. he owned a construction company. he put thousands of tons of rock, block, brick , and wood all over the lake. making his own humps sometimes 8 or 10 foot off the bottom. he said no one has ever complained.
