Default Tires

So I found on the internet how a few guys tied a bunch of tires together and sunk them? What do you guys think of that??? Not sure how I feel about a bunch of old tires on the bottom of the lake?

We used to make tire reef's in Calif.

We found out years later when the tires break down they where poluting

The lake with the chemicals in them.

That is what I was told by a game warden.

Bamboo or wood condos sound like the best bet.

Darwin.

Well That is kind of what I was thinking as well. There is a big difference in making fish habitat or throwing trash in the lake.

Default Was wondering about that also

About 35 years ago read articles in magazines, remember Field and Stream had a couple. They were always talking about putting a bunch scattered in shallows where the bluegills spawned in them.
Never tried it, always had a funny feeling about it but wondered about the longterm effects.

Man when they draw down Barren River Lake in KY it looks like a used tire habitat in areas. I think tires need to be recycled, and condos made out of natural materials. Just my thoughts on a sensitive mater, but I also think you need to leave an area cleaner than you found it!

I agree with you guys... Might work good, but I want a place for my kids to be able to fish...

I have got a bunch from when I bought my house(in the shop) Anyone know where I can get rid of them?

I don't even feel right tossing the plastic buckets overboard so I am looking for a non-toxic mold release or will cut them off.
