Is this just cedar trees, or ALL evergreen type trees (i.e. Xmas trees)?

Now neither them nor I have ever been using fruit trees, so maybe there is a difference on them. I know Nimrod likes persimmon trees, and he might be able to tell you if the leaves being on makes a difference one way or the other, and I guess you would call a persimmon tree a fruit tree.
I had the exact opposite experience with a maple that was placed in a local lake. It was fully leaved out and had a bare tree also sunk within casting distance next to it. Neither tree produced weel in early morning or late evening but during the afternoon hours the leaf tree smoke the other on number and quality of fish caught. Figured they liked the shade. Most the big ones came right out of the thickest area close to the trunk.

Trees that sour like Oaks tend to get better later after leaves are gone. Fruitwood such a Persimmon just plain work anyway you put them out.
