    Default shallow water condo

I've built several of these condo's for shallow water, around 6ft deep.

    has anyone tried this?

what kind of bottom are you planning on putting that thing into? My only concern would be that one side of your "limbs" would sink into a mud bottom and you would end up with half of your set-up being un-usable. How about this? (see picture)

One bigger piece like you have with some short "stabilizer" limbs that would rest directly on the bottom that you could pile a rock or block onto and keep the thing from rocking over. Sort of like a pvc stake bed originating from one pvc "log."

Or take what you got and turn it on its end so that the limbs stick out parrallel to the bottom. Just want to make sure that you end up giving fish full access to all your limbs. if you put it on some rocks then you gots no problems.

If it is placed on a hard bottom, like it should be, it won't sink at all. If you were worried about it, just don't make the cross pieces even, have most stick UP and sink it so the pipe was on the bottom. I would be honored to fish it.

Are the limbs on this pvc as well? I like that Idea, and IMHO I beleive It should work. If you don't mind me asking what''s the material list for this build? Thank you for sharing

I have done the same thing. And have added boo in them too. If it is pvc it will float, even without the boo. So, you don't have to worry about it sinking in the ground.

This year I'm gonna stand a ten ft piece up with arms or boo going out to the sides and with a block on the bottom with a 4 or 5 ft rope to float it off the bottom in about 25 ft of water. Very clear water.

How do you keep it from filling with water if you drill holes in it to insert boo? Sounds like a great idea, just can't figure out that part. Thanks!

Not sure I understand the drilling holes part. PVC floats. We want it to fill with water. We want little fish to hang out in it.

I made some like that and filled the bigger middle "trunk" with quick create. I also made some like smashdn illustrated filled the trunk of them also. They don't float or move around and no blocks or rope to get hung on.

There were several designs discussed on this thread and I was referring to the one that weighted the bottom with a block and the top with a float and let the "trunk" (pvc) stand tall and upright with boo sticking out.

I didn't realize it would still float upright with the branches of boo sticking out even if it didn't have trapped air. If it will, that's good to know.
