Awful hard to get hung on pvc. Thats's my main reason for making them out of PVC and I kinda pride myself on that when I fish them. This gives more area for the fish to actually spawn on or get under...I was thinking.

I agree with sac-a-lait and release to the grease - it's hard to get hung up on PVC. If you do get hung, it's usually just temporary - just giggle your pole up and down a little and your jig or minnow almost always comes loose. Some of my clients want me to add garland or plastic greenery because it looks more like a natural tree. I personally don't beleive this helps fish-wise, and it makes it much more likely to get hung.

It's just one of the advantages. Another is how much weight is required. My PVC trees sink on their own, but I also have a small hole in the bottom so that you can easily attach it to a brick with galvanized wire. Also much easier than mixing up that concrete and pouring it in 5 gallon buckets or those containers shown in this thread.

The biggest advantage is how long it lasts. Put the PVC trees in the right spot, and your great great grandkids can fish it. I've had great results - especially in the older lakes that don't have grass. I almost always put a series of PVC trees in a line going down a slope. I think the fish will follow that line of structure to find the depth they prefer that time of the year. My trees have a belled end so that you can join together as many as you need to make them as tall as you want without using a coupling.

    Hey John,

Just went to your website. COOL DEAL. You get paid to build structure!!! YOU ARE THE MAN. I thought getting paid to fish was cool BUT getting paid to dump stuff into a lake to create a fishing hole is even cooler!!!

    You ever get to Mississippi?
