Doubt it would ,would'nt stay dry long. lol lol If Bamboo is stored in the dry it will last for years but rots quickly once it gets wet.

I got some that has been sunk over a year, and some of it lasted well, and some dont seem to be much there now at all. I think current plays a part, and I think water depth does as well. I am not a so called specialist, just know my experiences thus far with it, but I will say this. What Ive put in deep water where its stays cooler, is still goin strong, just like that ole battery bunny, it seems to keep goin, n goin, n goin.The shallow boo may of been effected by sun cause its mostly rotted away.
