Default Cinder Blocks. . . by themselves

I have a ton (not literally) of cinder blocks laying around after construction of a new garage. Would it be beneficial at all to create a small 'rock pile' with these in 2-3 or 6 feet of water? I'd like to keep them within 15ft or so of the shore in between two docks (where no boats really go - minimize the change of someone knocking a prop) or out in about 6 feet between the docks, again so no one hits them.

Would this be of any benefit to any species of fish?

I think it would depend on what other cover is available. If it is in an area without
much cover , like a mud or clay flat, it will be a fish magnet.
6-10 ft will be better than 2-3.

Cover is mostly submerged vegetation in the deeper areas. Doesn't really come up until June/July depending on when the ice goes out. No solid structure (rocks, stumps, trees, etc) at all. Shoreline is mostly mud and clay.

Tie some kind of brush to those blocks and then you would really have something...
"Build it and they will come"..... End of story!

Get 2 cinderblocks and lay them on top of one another at right angles and attach them together with rope or wire. Then get'ya some bamboo and stick through both blocks, coming from both sides of each block, overlaping each other by 2' or 3'. I use 4 plastic ties to keep the bamboos from sliding out but you don't have to. If you use too many bamboos, it won't sink. Then you either have to add weight or take out some bamboos.

If You have current, Cinder blocks will not be enough. Put in 5 spots last year with cinder blocks filled with concrete and tied to some medium sized limbs (half boat length). Tied two to a block. They stayed all summer after I dropped them. Came back the next summer and they were gone. Used galvanized hay wire to tie them together. We don't get heavy current here either. Figured the blocks would be the ticket. They weren't.CF
