    Default PVC Condo's?

I want to make a few Crappie Condo's and add a little more in the way of stucture to a spot. I have access to a lot of scrape 3-4 inch PVC pipe but would have to purchase most of the smaller diameter stuff like 3/4 inch. I realize that both would likely work just fine but was curious if diameter would make any noticable difference and hold fish better. I would appreciate any opinions...

I've been using half inch electrical conduit, the gray type from the hardware store....it's running 1.29 plus tax for a ten foot piece when making my fish attractors. One end is flared fatter for joining if needed. I don't know if you could use this material or not, but it's half inch inside dia. and thicker on the outside. You may want to check it out.

If you're getting the 3" and 4" stuff free, then I'd use them. If you have access to a table saw then you can easily cut them in half or even quarters lengthwise. A skill saw would work too. You can buy 18" X 18" plastic containers at Walmart for about $2. Getcha about 4 of them and buy some quickcrete at Lowes and you're ready to go. Drill some 1" holes in the pvc where they will be in the quickcrete and the pvc will stay in there alot better. Another good idea is to wipe a little oil of any kind in the containers so the quickcrete comes out easier. Sometimes I use the larger pvc as the tree trunk, drill holes in it and stick the smaller pvc through the holes for the branches. You can also stick bamboo through those holes. If you use bamboo, you'll need to make the quickcrete thicker because of the their flotation.

I can't find mine on the fish finder but I also triangulated their location when I dropped them so I know where the are. Someone suggested putting some rebar in them but I'm open for any suggestions for the next I build

Turn your sensitivity up higher when you're looking for them. I had an eagle 320 and didn't have a problem with mine showing up on the screen.

    Lunatic,
The bigger the better. Fish hold a lot better on my big stuff. I think it gives more shade.
