Default Getting to old for this.

Took my bamboo fish habitat today and dropped it. Had 4 bamboo condos that I dropped in 19' water so it will be ready this summer when the crappie go deep and also for next fall and winter when the crappie go deep. These condos where about 12 to 14 foot tall and had right at 80# of concrete in the 5 gallon buckets. This is not a good job for the aging. I just hope that some younger folks will get interested and start doing their part instead of waiting for others to do the work. The old Lake I fish is getting very bald of structure and not very many people build habitat anymore like they use too. Well I dropped all of them within just a few feet from each other and they when straight down and stood straight up. I think this happens with bamboo because the hallow insides holding air inside. Well we will see how good they work this summer when the water gets hot and the crappie go deep and stack up around structure. Here is a picture of one of the crappie condos when I was building them.

Looks good scrat! I hear ya on the " TOO OLD" part, seems like it takes me longer and longer, to get ready to go fishin anymore.
I do feel Blessed that I can still get out there though. Hope these condos draw them in for ya.

Agreed. Having some 'young guns' to help is recommended, just make certain they get ' rewarded' for their efforts !

Just an update on the Bamboo condos. I went out yesterday morning for a quick 1 1/2 hour morning fishing trip. With sonar over the condos I could see fish on and around the condos. Well I would have thought that the crappie would have been in shallow water with the surface water them at 69° this morning but there they were in 19' water. I cast and vertical fished a Southern Pro 1/32 crawdad grub with SlabSauce and caught 22 which I released as I didn't need to keep any today. Fish Habitat "build it and they will come".
