There is a BBQ restraunt in my home town that has the best green beans. I asked them what they were seasoned with but they aren't saying. Does anyone here have a good recipe? Thanks

I take 3lbs fresh green beans and snap them (get rid of ends), 5-10 small red potatoes (whole) and cut up 1 lb or bacon into small chunks. Fry the bacon in your pot and leave the grease with it (make it as crisp as you want but don't burn). Dump the green beans and potatoes in the pot and add water to barely cover. Simmer for 30-45 minutes until potatoes are fork tender. Even with all the bacon you will need to add salt to taste. Hope this helps with your green bean dilemma.
Don't use a recipe but here's how I fix them.
Fresh green beans (however many fit in the plastic bag at the grocery store).
Ham hock (raw preferred but often have to settle for smoked ones).
Couple tablespoons of bacon grease.
Couple teaspoons of sugar.
Salt & pepper
Cover with water and cook slow to taste.
Cook snaps in a pot with peppered hog jowls.:D also fry up jowls for sandwiches.
ill tell you what im sure there from a can but out local mrs winners does something to them you can sure taste the greenbean flavor
