Default Old-Fashioned Course Ground Corn Meal

Growing up we used just Old-Fashioned Course Ground Corn Meal for breading then several years ago I found House Autry and loved it! Been using it ever since, until last week! House Autry was nearly out so I breaded my fillets in Old-Fashioned Course Ground Corn Meal like the good ole days. Man that is some good stuff. And you can't beat $1.00 for a 1lb bag. Guess sometimes simple is best.

Nothing I have tried beats corn meal and black pepper. The old timers knew what they were doing.

Oh dear... the battle of breading... Keep going, I need ideas. So far, dipped in buttermilk, rolled in corn meal and fried is hard to beat, yet my daughter loves "McCormick's" Beer batter made with a bottle of beer. What do you have better???

Default Mmmmm, boy!

Yep- dip em in egg, plow em in cornmeal, fry em in bacon grease, eat em with a cold one-or two- and some corn on the cob while camping by the lake and then go back fishing after dark. Yep.

That's what we do. Run them thru the egg wash, plenty of cornmeal and pepper and fry to perfection.
