Default Best Blooming Onion Recipe?

I have a device that makes perfect blooming onions. But I can't seem to find a batter recipe that makes as good of an onion as you get at Outback or Lonestar Steakhouses.Does anybody know of any good recipes to try?

We use a mix that I get at Wal-mart its a Autry House Med Hot breader.. Take an egg and butter milk. Wash the onion in the wash. Then cover with the Med Hot breader. Then egg wash again and then breader again.
Ours turns out great, And its as good as the ones at Outback.. Also we have stopped cooking the blooming onions, I cut them them in the blooming onion cutter. Then cut the bottom off of it. And eat the blooms. Not as hard as the blooming onions to get done. As you always have some of the onion that is not done.
But with just using the peddles. There all done and sure some fine eating. Sure hate I am not able to eat them anyone.

Also you can do boneless skinless chicken breast cut into bite size in the same above and deep fry. Man its good.

Dipping sauce..
1/4 cup mayo
1 tablespoon horseradish
Teaspoon catchup
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
red pepper to taste we use a little over 1/4 tea spoon
Black pepper couple dashes.
makes enough for 2 easy and will keep in fridge for up to 2 weeks.

We fix this for shrimp and even fish... And everyone loves it.

This is supposed to be Outback's recipe. Haven't tried it yet.

Batter:
1/3 Cup Cornstarch
1 1/2 Cup Flour
2 tsp. Garlic −− minced
2 tsp. Paprika
1 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Pepper
24 oz. Beer

Seasoned Flour:
2 Cup Flour
4 tsp. Paprika
2 tsp. Garlic powder
1/2 tsp. Pepper
1/4 tsp. Cayenne pepper

Mix cornstarch, flour, and seasonings until well blended. Add beer,
mix well. Cut about 3/4" off top of onion and peel. Cut into onion
12 to 16 vertical wedges, but do not cut through bottom root end.
Remove about 1" of petals from center of onion. Dip onion in seasoned
flour and remove excess by shaking. Separate petals and dip in batter
to coat thoroughly. Gently place in fryer basket and deep−fry at
375 to 400 1 1/2 minutes. Turn over, and fry an additional 1 1/2 minutes.
Drain on paper towels.
Place onion upright in shallow bowl and remove center core with circular
cutter or apple corer. Serve hot with Creamy Chili Sauce.
Creamy Chili Sauce:
1 pint Mayonnaise
1 pint Sour cream
1/2 Cup Chili sauce
1/2 tsp. Cayenne pepper
