Anyone eating any fresh Poke Weed or Poke Sallet as mom called it ?

it has the pokeberries on it....purple juice...we used to paint our faces like indians with it as children....

Another way to cook it is. Take the stems from a young plant ( about as big as your finger) Cut them about 4-6" Long, In a pan get the water almost to a boil, Then put the stems in, Wait just a few min's- & the skin will pull off the stem, Cool & cut up like you do Okra, Then fry the same as you do Okra.
Sure is some fine eating

It is inbetween Hot Springs and Russlleville in Arkansas. At one time it was noted for Crappie, still good but has faded as it was built in 1942.
