Default 1st time poster needs advice.

This is my first time posting on here. I went fishing yesterday and caught several crappie. I have no clue on how to cook or even scale these fish as I have never done this before. Catfish is easy to prepare and deep fry but where do I start on the crappie? My impression is that its just like frying a catfish except you gotta scrape all the scales off instead of peeling the skin like a cat.

These crappie are kind of small in my opinion with the length going from 10 to 12 inches.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Never mind I found the steps on another thread. I guess frying the should be the same as cats.

Welcome! You'll find lots of good recipes in other threads also. You can fry them same as cats. I coat with mustard, right before I go to the grease, I powder them with Zatarains seasoned chick fry (and add a little Tony's Chacheres) for a thin tasty, thin crust. But...many ways to try yet...

Now you will be hooked! Crappie is better tasting than catfish if you ask me.
