how do you make black bean soup??

wash beans then put in a bowl cover with water and 1 table spoon of lemon juice let set over nite dump the water rinse the beans.
put beans in cooking pot add 5 cups of water or enouth to cover plus 2 inches. bring to a full boil scoop off the scum.
turn heat down to where the water is bearly bubbling. add
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 dash of cummin
1 onion quartered
optional 1 carrot quarted to remove acid remove carrots after cooking.

let this cook on bearly a bubble till beans are tender then serve.

if you have to add water make sure it is hot before adding or it will make the beans tuff.
