looking for white gravey recipe
from south louisiana and looking for a white gravey recipe.
-
1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup grease
2 1/2 cups milks
salt, pepper to taste
simmer to desired thickness
-
1/4 cup grease? That ought to stop the heart. Heck, biscuit gravy only calls for two-three tablespoons. Mur9978, do you have the holy grail? LOL, Just Kidding, but that does sound like alot of grease for gravy. Take Care, TF

How many tablespoons are in 1/4 cup? I don't know, just asking, but I bet three would be really close. Trust me, the recipe is fool proof. Perfect gravy every time.
-
tell yall what guys if the cracklen and boudin doesn't kill me the 1/4 cup of grease won't. thanks for the recipe guys.

Instant cream gravy mix in the grocery store. Boil water, add powder, eat on everything. Works perfect every time. Don

With all the good tasting sauces and food in your neck of the woods man I wouldn't have time to eat white gravy. LOL
easy recipe is: 2 or 3 Tablespoons real butter melted in saucepan on medium heat add 2 tablespoons flour and stir for about 5 minutes to cook the flour, then add 2 cups warm milk. Stir until it gets thick then add pepper and salt to taste.
My wife does hers in a skillet with grease and it drives her nuts when I do it my way...it always tastes better than hers...hahaha!

Gotta side with the wife on this one..........nuttin better than using sausage grease.
-
