Sausage Bread
GREAT FOR BREAKFAST OR TAKE ON A FISHING TRIP
sausage bread.
1 pound bread dough fresh or frozen (sold in freezer dept at market)
1 1/2 pound sausage
1teasp basil crushed
1/2 tsp garlic powder
2ea eggs beaten
1/2 cup onion diced
1 ea egg beaten
salt and pepper to taste
let dough rise to double size about 7 hours if frozen.
cut dough in half. roll dough in rectangle 16x19 inches
cook sausage w/onion till crumbly not browned,
in large bowl combine 2 beaten eggs, garlic powder, basil
salt and pepper add cooked sausage and onion.
mix well spred.
mixture on dough. roll dough up in jelly roll style make two turns
fold in edges 1/4 inch to seal them then finish rolling to the end.
place seam down on cookie sheet. Bake 350 deg. for 25 minutes brush with
beaten egg bake 5-10 minutes more till golden brown serve warm.
