Default Cane Pole's Boat of the Month Contest - NOVEMBER sponsored by Outlet Bait & Tackle

Post pictures of your boat with as many details as you care to include. And Cane Pole (and company) will select a winner. We will do this every month (unless the gewber forgets), and then at the end of the year we will select a "Boat Of The Year".

So, you can submit and resubmit your boat each month you don't win, and add additional details that might help it win the next month over the course of the year. The more details, and pics, and cool things you document, the better the chances are to get selected. The monthly winners will receive a prize pack, as will the "Boat of the Year".

*This includes kayaks and canoes. Whatever you float in...

Ten 2pack of Bill Dance's Dancin' Crappie Spins

    A Dozen Lindy Dancin' Tubes

Three 3pack of Eagle Claw Crappie Jigs

    Lindy 2 3/4" Darter
Two 15pack 1.75" Tube Gary Yamamoto

    Wow, right...

This is my crappie rig that was acquired in May 2016, and has been a great first fiberglass boat. Its a 1995 Nitro 2000DC, which is 20.6 feet long. Total package was the boat, motor and trailer, all for $7,000. When I purchased the boat, all the electronics, GPS pucks and trolling motor had to be replaced. Currently, I have a Minn Kota Terrova 80# 24 volt that I replaced the short shaft and installed a 60" shaft for better bite for pulling crank baits. This is installed on a Minn Kota quick release plate. I also have Lowrance electronics installed. On the bow, I have a HDS 12 Gen 2 Touch running a HDI transducer which gives me down imaging. At the console, I have a HDS 12 Gen 3 Touch, which is hooked to a Point 1 GPS, and a LSS-2 structure scan. These units are Ethernet connected, and are NMEA networked.
Both of my units are mounted to Cornfield Crappie Gear cnc machined riser mounts. Cajunfryer (aka Mark Ridl) makes excellent products with quality at the top of his product selection. I have the 12" up front and the 6" at the console.
I have a total of 5 floor plates mounted in this rig to mount Spyderlok rod racks to, 2 up front and 3 in the back. The Spyderlok's are by far the best rod racks on the market today. I have a total of 4 (4) rod racks for spider rigging, and for pulling crankbaits. These are set to how I prefer the rods to sit, so they are dedicated to whichever technique is being administered.
I also have two of the saltwater edition Millinium Marine seats that we love even more than our original B-100 seats which we had for over 4 years. These seats are awesome, so comfortable, rugged, and great looking and quality product. Mr Gene makes awesome products, delivers on his promise of service and quality!!
The vertical rod storage racks are from Cornfield Crappie Gear, and make life much easier when dealing with up to 18 foot rods, and all the way down to 8 foot. I mounted them straight thru the fiberglass with stainless bolts and stop nuts. I leave these racks on the boat at all times. I have made multiple trips to Mississippi with my rods riding the entire trip in the racks. Again, another quality product by Cajunfryer.
The front storage compartments are huge with ample room. 2 internal rod storage lockers, one on each side, have rods and even a couple of umbrellas for those hot days. Dual consoles have all the leg room anybody could ask for. Original equipment on all the gauges, toggle switches still work.
The boat has 2 fuel tanks with a total capacity of 50 gallons, and fuel selection toggles work as designed.
An absolute huge livewell that has good aeration. I have installed 2 of the V-2t livewell ventilation vents that helps reduce gases and heat buildup and provide a better oxygen supply to the feeshes.
Batteries! I have 2 12 volt Trojan golf cart batteries that provide power to the Terrova. These batteries are super tough and very dependable. My starting battery is a Duralast AGM starting battery for my Mercury 225hp optimax. No other accessories are hooked to the starting battery for good reason! I have a group 31 deep cycle battery for all of the electronics and accessories on the rig. I have my volt meter on my Lowrance bow unit to show battery usage, normally using less than 2 total volts for an all day trip. These are repowered by my 3 bank onboard charger by Dual Pro.
Just this summer I had to have the transom rebuilt due to it being rotten. Afterwards I installed a Seastar Hydraulic Steering System and this has made riding, driving and overall safety much better.
I also have a 7 foot Keel Guard in black installed. This makes it much easier to navigate shallow water areas, banks, ramps and the list goes on.
Have several more smaller projects on this rig, but it's hard to start these with such beautiful fishing weather!! I hope you enjoy the pics of my little rig!!
