Default Cane Pole's Boat of the Month Contest - July is sponsored by Strike King

Boat of the Month contest. AND Boat of the Year.

Post pictures of your boat with as many details as you care to include. And Cane Pole (and company) will select a winner. We will do this every month (unless the gewber forgets), and then at the end of the year we will select a "Boat Of The Year".

So, you can submit and resubmit your boat each month you don't win, and add additional details that might help it win the next month over the course of the year. The more details, and pics, and cool things you document, the better the chances are to get selected. The monthly winners will receive a prize pack, as will the "Boat of the Year".

*This includes kayaks and canoes. Whatever you float in...

This months prize is sponsored by Strike King....here are the prize pack details.....thank you Strike King for your support.

    SIX packs of Sausage Heads

SIX 25 packs of Mr. Crappie Jig Heads.

    Two packs of Krappie Kickers

    Two packs of Scizzor Shads

And Twelve packs of plastics including: Jokers, Slab Slangers, Shad Poles, Slabalicious and Shad Pole Curly Tails.

Holy Cow Batman, this is one heck of a prize pack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, here I go again. Same boat, same pictures. My kayak is a 13'-6" Ocean Torque Motorized, sit on top, fishing Yak. It has a MinnKota 36 pound thrust troll motor. It is powered by an Exide deep cycle battery. The power control switch is between the battery box and the seat. There is a built in power plug next to the troll motor location. I added rod holders to the battery cover to make them easier for me to reach and use. I added extensions, with "D" handles, to the rudder control cables. I took the rudder bracket off and used Marine Goop cement to seal it better, and make the rudder bracket bolts more secure. Using the rudder pedals to steer the yak puts a lot of pressure on the rudder bracket, which can cause the bolts to loosen. I added holders for my paddle, and a paddle leash. I also added an anchor trolley. I made an anchor pole out of an aluminum oar I had. It has a front dry storage compartment which really works. The battery compartment has a water tight sealed cover and a small storage area. The seat came with the kayak, and I added extra seat padding and a pad to the seat back to take pressure off my back. Behind the seat, I have a storage area for my bait bucket and my ice chest. There is a formed slot for the troll motor. The troll motor is a saltwater troll motor and actually floats. I carry the kayak on a boat trailer I bought from Harbor Freight and converted it to hold my kayak. It's a very comfortable fishing Kayak and I have fished out of it for as long as six hours with no problem. I love going fishing in it. Now, if I can just catch more fish...

Here's my Wilderness Systems Pungo 120. I added four RAM rod holders and a Lowrance Hook 4X depthfinder. I mounted the battery box behind the seat with quick-release clips and the transducer is in a liquid-tight box under the seat to keep it protected & out of the way. My biggest problem with this rig is the motor (me) is getting rusty and doesn't like to get out of bed on rainy mornings. I mostly drift fish and troll crankbaits from it.

2005 triton 1756 SC, 50 hp Merc. Bought brand new. Spend my honeymoon in it fishing the white bass spawn. I've made countless memories with my family with it. My nephew says "Sup's boat is great for napping!" Even the dog loves it! Minn Kota Edge 70 trolling motor, homemade t-rail spider rig, bimini top for the wife kids and dog (yea right!). Future upgrades include long rod storage racks and upgrading the vintage 05 Eagle electronics. Wish I had a dime for every crappie and white bass caught out of it!

I have a 2005 , 1648 war eagle that serves me in all adventures on water . It has a two stroke low pressure direct fuel 40 Nissan(34 mph.solo ) .I added a 45 lb. 12 volt Minn Kota trolling motor (hand -held), complete with power button on floor . Due to being left handed and not wanting excess cable in my face all day . Had E-Z pole holder to make a set of rod holders for transporting short rods . It has a set of tip savers for transporting long rods for spider rigging . Ez was also the man to see for the spider lock holders used for spider rigging and another base to double as long lining holders . There are 4 cabela's quick draw holders for catfishing, pulling cranks or any where they are needed for guest crappie poles . I added a precision minn kota 212 battery charger that will recharge the batteries before day light . lol never timed them but always ready when I am . The boat has two depth finders .A Lowrance Elite 5 HDI up front and A lowrance elite 3 x on the back . They do a great job since 99 percent of places I fish are marked during winter draw down on the big four. River fishing is pretty much seasonal patterns that hold true or have since my grandad took me . Added a 60 inch box for paddle, pfd , tackle and ect . Boat also has double seat pedestal on back for easy riding and a flip over seat mount for person in back as to balance the boat . Other items replaced were spare tire carrier, safety chains , buddy bearings, Garelick -ez in boat seats and new cover . Not everyone's dream boat but having fished Grenada, Sardis Enid from 14 ft. jon since a kid , iT Fits me .
