• Diascund: late start but good day

Bait didn't hit the water until 0845, but clouds & fog probably extended the early A.M. bite.

WT started at 80* & topped out at 84*--about a 5* drop since my last Diascund trip. Water clarity wasn't bad,
considering the weekend rains. Light breeze and pleasant temps made for a very nice day on the water.

The bite was notably better than any Diascund trip since early spring, including lots of small WP and these:

That particular specimen measured 43", however it's mother and grandmother also ate lots of my
minnows and pulled the boat around. A number of CF and greenies also helped themselves to
    minnows.

In addition to bait robbers, there was an abundance of this:

It's filling-in shallows and the backs of coves. There was also a lot of FAV, in no small part due to
    the (early?) arrival of these:

Most good spots that weren't loaded with gars or grass produced at least a few fish. Typically, the
size was like this or smaller:

Out of a total of 56 for the day, 15 were 10" or larger. The biggest crappie was a 13.5-incher.

The day ended with a flyover and a beautiful sunset!
