The ziplock baggie you see above
was full of Shumeister Molasses Cookies. They are the best dunkin' cookies ever. You know what I mean. Other cookies fall apart when you dunk them, other cookies take forever to pick up the milk, other cookies get over soggy and mushy with no texture. But I'm tellin' you, the Shumeister makes the best dunkin' cookies ever. I got a spot in my boat any time Shu's got cookies for sure!
OK, I'm getting ahead of myself. This is actually a review of this last weeks fishing outings. The Shumeister came over on Monday, and it was on! We caught fish, not a lot, but we caught fish.
We did an evening fishing trip and soon ran out of light for pics.
We stayed out till first blood. That is, first time a skeeter bit. And we buzzed off the lake. We don't need to feeding the next generation of those pests.
The next day (Tuesday) I got the daughter out and we longlined instead. With Shu we were spider rigging minners, but I had no minners, so daughter and I longlined Pico Scent Ring Jigs with Slabsauce and were able to put as many as Shu and I did into the bucket.
Yes, this batch of fish I released. I released them to the grease. Daughter was coming over later and it was a rare opportunity to have fresh fish that evening.
I fried them in a pan of butter. Turned out pretty darn good. In my opinion, it's great this way but you have to eat them while they're still hot. mmmgood
Daughter and poopers were all happy we caught a small mess and all our bellies were full.
So I'm on Wednesday now. I longlined by myself and only caught two, this one here being the only respectable one. Not bad so far though. Three days of fishing and two days turned out pretty darn good for Griffin.
So yesterday is the day the Shumeister came over with the cookies and we went out again. Win/win, he caught a few, a few more than me, and I went home with cookies. Good week, good deal. There's still time today, I may try and hit the water shortly. Good luck on the water all. FISH ON
