• Turkey Hunters in Wisconsin

    I took a trip to Wisconsin to Hunt Turkey with member H2oHammer and a couple friends.

    No turkey shot. Tons seen, they were just too far away. We think it was too late in the season to call them in to where we were. The Toms would gobble back at us and then they would just keep on doing what they were doing, usually eating or moving to an area to eat.

    I have to say, H2oHammer was awesome. We were treated to home made Chimichanga and Leinie's Honey Weiss upon arrival. He certainly is an excellent cook. I would drive back up there in an instant just for that Mexican Food and Wisconsin Beer! Afterwords Brian took us on a tour of the area. It was about an hour before sun set, and as we drove from field to field we seen tons of Hens, Jakes, Toms, and deer too. Wildlife was all over, what an absolutely beautiful area.




    True Americana, who can't stop for a Brat at the local gas station. And it was a good one.






    Goldenrod with a grub inside. H2oHammer says the gills really hammer them.

      Sometimes looking at them from a lil far out is how it goes for sure .....looks like it was fun though

      Wow! Sounds like you all had a good time. A true turkey hunter knows that the chase is better than the kill anyway. Calling a turkey into shooting and seeing distance is a challenge in itself. Thanks for sharing the Wisconsin turkey hunting report and pictures.

      was about to pm you slab and ask how your WI hunt was, glad you had the opportunity and had them around you. Turkey hunting is different where if you get to see bunch, hear the gobbling and try to guess what the correct tactic is to lure them in was a good time and fun.
