Default Cat illiterate

When using live Brim on either a rod or a yo-yo- where is it best to hook the fish, at the tail, back or through the lips, top to bottom or bottom to top, what size hook for average size cat?

Do u suggest the circle hook and any particular rig.
Does it matter if the rigging (leader) shows much?

New to this and any help appreciated.

Also when you do catch is it ok to ice them down and clean the next AM.

Thanks
John

Johns , Hook them through the tail meat behind the dorsal fin. This does not puncture anything vital and they stay alive all night. A circle is best for live brim as it has a wide enough opening in the hook for a good hook up once he bites. If that tip isn't exposed good , then the hook will miss and he'll spit. Also try scaling one side of the live brim before throwing him out. This kicks up the slime process and gets a good scent trail in the water. Good luck.
