Thread: Circle Hooks

From what I've read, the straight eyes should be snelled to work correctly. I just snell both of them, as it takes only a few more seconds than a clinch knot.

Na, it doesn't matter. Look a the saltwater guys who catch fish that weigh more than your riding mower. They don't have a problem with either. The fish don't know what kind of eye you have on your hooks. They don't know if it's snelled or knotted.

My circle hook are straight eyed, and I tie knots all the time on them. You've seen the fish I catch. They don't seem to even know that it's a straight eye hook with a knot.

I use both, they work fine. The gap between hook and shank is what you want.

Ya know what, I have never paid attention to straight or offset....just tied'em on and started fishing.
