I can't find any circle hooks were I live. So I bought some Gamakatstu Octopus hooks size 3/0 and 5/0 will they set the hook like circle hooks or do I have to set the hook with the rod.

I run the octopus and the half circles. The half circles are kinda the best of both worlds. You can set the hook or let them pull it down. Either one are great hooks a depeding on how hard the strike, you can get away with no hookset with the octopus. Hard to beat the Eagle Claw lazer sharps.
