Default Nice grass carp can be caught.

This one is over 49#. That's my nephew. He's Navy bound 8/15/11.

Here's some others I put my other nephew and his buddy on. The one on the right is the one above's brother.
    These weighed 20 and 22#.

Congrats to you and the boys on those carp. They are one good fighting fish that does not give up all the way in. I used to shoot alot of carp bowfishing and brought some home for pictures from time to time & then I'd give 'em away. What happened to the fish those boys took home?

When I was young I tried cooking them a couple different ways and never did get them "eatable". Was just wondering...

Don't like regular Yellow German Carp , but Grass Carp (White Amur) are real white solid flesh .I rib out and fry like any other fish. Ribs are thick and meat more solid like chicken.

I hooked one several years ago on a Hocus Locust during a big 17 year cicada hatch. Thought I was casting to a bass and did NOT have heavy enough gear to land it. It was fun while it lasted. I have a recipe for carp ribs, but I've never tried it.
