    Default Book Review.

"Fishing for Buffalo" by Rob Buffler and Tom Dickson

Have to say that I really couldn't praise this one too highly!

The title really is misleading, in that many other species are covered by the book.

A real wealth of information, tactics and anecdotes about the fish that many of us enjoy and appreciate, but for various reasons...or no good reason...are not generally popular.

Even if some of the species presented here aren't found in your area, it's still interesting to learn about 'em. And it might just inspire you for try for some local fish that you've ignored previously.

Here in Indiana, I think the freshwater drum is an example of a fine sport fish that few people ever try to catch.

    1990.

I have a copy, too. It's a good book, but I prefer "American Coarse Angling" by Brook Landis. It came out in 2002 and covers legering and float fishing for a variety of species. Landis has an interesting perspective since he has a fly fishing background.

Think I will try and find those books at a bookstore to look them over as a possible purchase.

Amazon will probably be your best bet. You can read excerpts of both books there (I love that about Amazon.)

Yep! Just click on "Search inside this book" under the book cover on the left here:

Amazon.com: American Coarse Angling: Modern Baitfishing Tactics for the Overlooked Species (9780811734264): Brook…

It only has one review (three stars), but I disagree with the reviewer.

You can do the same on the "Fishing for Buffalo" book.

I get most of my books here.

They're used, but the prices are low.
