Thread: First Time Post (Pics)

Hello All! Been reading up on drifting for Crappie (spider rig)....made a rod holder and works pretty good. The fish seemed to be scattered at my local spot. This seemed like the best method. Missed 4 other fish, but managed 10. Some rigs worked better than others. Still working on the best rig, boat speed, etc.

Good job out there. I am looking forward to learning how to drift fish and other trolling methods. What lake did you fish?

I'm still trying to figure out the best way to catch them....they seem to bite just about everything, but nothing better than the other. One on a jig, other on a worm, some trolling, some drifting, etc. Nothing really pulling 'em in better than the other. I've zeroed in on drop offs and what little structure I can find. That doesn't seem to be working either, but I need to work it a little more. Max depth is 16 ft and the water temp is 77 degrees. It's like a warm bath right now. I know that isn't helping me.

How big is your lake? If you can find a hole that is 17', they'll gather there in the hot weather and be near the bottom trying to find the coolest spot in the lake. They don't stop eating because the water is warm
