Default New to the site, with a question...

    Hey Everyone,

I have been living here in the L.A. county for about 10 years. Moved here from Michigan right out of high school to perfect my trade. Lost touch for a couple of years with my fishing ventures, but in the last couple of years I have found it again. Back home in Michigan if it swam I was fishing after it, and if I caught something it went on the dinner table. My wife and I love fishing. We would like to add crappie and other panfish to our target list.

Was wondering where you find minnows in L.A.? I can't seem to find them anywhere around me. Also has anyone ever fished Lake Cachuma? We have friends up there and would like to try camping and fishing for the weekend. Looking for any advise, and am still learning how to navigate this site.

    Keep those lines tight :D!!!

    Hey RR
Not real familiar with the LA area fishing. Cachuma is supposed to be a real good lake for pan fish. Check out fishingnetwork.net or hookupsportfishing.com for So Cal fishing info. This is site is loaded with "how to's".

You want to do some real fishing - go to Baja.

Have not fished Cachuma yet. Went Trout fishing at the Santa Ynez river with success. I have also heard the pans and crappie fishing is good at Cachuma. I'm in Thousand Oaks. Raised in Wisconsin. Where in LA County are you from?

    Croppy,

I am living in Sherman Oaks. The wife and I are looking for a crappie/panfish trip. Any other suggestions on lakes around the area?

Better check the local/state regulations. Minnows may be illegal there.
