    Default SoCal Crappie fishing

Fished with friend Keith - yesterday - for some excellent Crappie. Used 2lb test with a 1/32nd Chub BellySpinner (EC Lil' Nasty #6) and Keith was using plastics + the secret concoction - had to use some too. Tried the bobber thing again - hate it, did better with counting down and retrieving. Caught them on a plain pink Automatic as well. Double limit (25 each) of 15" to 16" fish!

Nice looking crappie! Looks like that Automatic jig is a good one!

Thnx Matt. Majority of these fish were caught on the Belly Spinner Chub jig. 1/32nd silver chub with a #6 EC sickle hook, 00 willow blade. Was using 3 mm glow eyes or 3 mm red eyes. A few of the Crappie bit on the Auto. Added a little bit of my buddy's secret crappie sauce on the duck flank feathers.....
I (and some friends) have caught some quality fish, over the last couple of years, fishing with both patterns.
Don't fish for Crappie enough - we target the big BGs and REs.
