tube jig question

I use bigger tubes . i like the umbrella tubes by Southern Pro . They allow me to use bigger jig heads like 1/8 insert that are unpainted . i insert them the way he does . Take care to check for mold flash or burrs on the lead, remove if needed . Sometimes spitting on lead or any lube or fish scent helps insert them . My trip last week I fished all day with same bait . The tubes last longer if you take care removing fish and don't hang it up too much or loose it . Not uncommon for me to catch a limit on one bait . No stopping to push tube back up cause it stays till you tear it up .

I like the top quality jigs made by Timmy Tom , some cheaper unpainted insert type lead heads have too many mold flash or burrs to remove , I like the # 1 or #2 hook on 1/8 oz for umbrella tubes but go up to 1/4 oz with 1/0 hook for bigger 2.5 '' tubes .

You can use ball type but insert is better .
