    Default Fishing Line Question

I am just beginning to start a devoted bass fishing experience ( not just catching what I can). I have purchased a new baitcaster and were wanting to know your thoughts as to which line would be best to use for all round fishing.
I have braid for my catfish rods, but didnt know if I should use that, reg. mono, or fluorocarbon.

    Any information would be appreciated.

Mono stren low vis green I usually take 8 -10 rods with me when I go.
They range from 6lb test to 15lb test but most are spooled with 12.
    Hope this helps you.

During the spring I use Seager flurocarbon in different sizes for different applications. In the summer when night fishing stren original clear blue florecsent in 14 pound test.It really shows up good with a blacklight and is easy to break off when hung uo.

Since you r learning a baitcaster, I'd recommend fireline or pline. They r easier to pick out a birds nest over braid. Get your self a pick for the nests makes them much easier to get out. Start out for a heavier lure like 1/2 oz rat-l-trap until you get used to it. It helps if someone that uses a baitcaster can show you thier tricks.

I'm partial to Yo-Zuri Hybrid. It's a copoly line - part mono, part fluoro. It is very abrasion resistant, and is very low stretch (a lot less than mono, but a little more than pure fluoro). It's UV resistant and will not absorb water. It also breaks at a higher weight than its rated test (ie 12 lb test breaks at around 19lbs). This allows for the use of smaller diameter line. I use 8lb on spinning rigs, 10lb on my cranking rigs and lighter plastics rigs, 12lb on my heavy plastics rigs, and 15lb on my flipping and frog rigs.

Give it s whirl. It is outstanding line.

    Yo-Zuri Fishing Line- Hybrid
