    Default Luckiest catch

It was 2 years ago and I was fishing a really small pond/slough for perch, crappie and whatever would bite. I was fishing in about 7 feet of water not 4 feet off the shore in some weeds and Lilly pads. I caught couple small perch and a hybrid using this tiny hook and a tiny piece of night crawler.

I thought the day was pretty much shot and all of the sudden I got a slam from what turned out to be 17 inch large mouth. Talk about a lucky catch. I didn't think a fish that big would even bother hitting such a small bait.

I had thrown so many large baits for bass knowing that the big boys were there and never got a hit and to have this happen made me think I needed to downsize. So much for bigger bait bigger fish! :D
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.
