Me and a couple of buddies went nightime Smallie fishin a few weeks back in Southern Missouri. We heard topwater was the way to go at night so we tried everything from Jitterbugs to Zara Spooks and got nothing.

We decided to try bottom fishin with soft craws and tubes on 1/8 oz jigheads to at least catch some Goggle Eye. By around midnight we had caught over 30 Rock bass, and were ready to go hit the fire. My buddy does one last cast and starts yelling for the landing net. Well, it's midnight and I had wade down river about 30 yards, and buy the time I had got there he landed this nice Smallie.

The first is my best fish of the night, and the 2nd is his. The boy was lucky.
