MAN! What an awesome weekend on Grand Bayou!
We prefished Saturday for a club tournament & caught several on a C-rig in 4-8ft of water & some on a Tenn Shad Baby One Minus in about 2-3 ft of water...we ended the day catching 6 overs, 8 slots & 2 unders.
This morning in our club tourney we ran to our first spot hoping for the C-rig bite. Fished that spot for about an hour without a bite & started getting worried. We then ran across the lake to our second spot which is some REALLY shallow areas with humps that are exposed above the water & scattered stickups. We put one over in the boat right off the bat & by 915, we had our limit with 3 overs & 2 unders & A KICKER FISH THAT WENT 9.36LBS! Caught him on the same Baby One Minus in about 1 to 1 1/2 ft of water.
Fought the wind in that spot off & on & caught fish every time we hit that spot.
We ended the day with 5 overs & the first place win with about 24lbs!:D
All fish caught today were caught on the Baby One Minus, Chart/Blue H&H & on a Chart/Black H&H...all fish caught today were shallow...no more than 3ft deep. I think over all we had 5 overs, 4 unders & about 6 slot fish today.
Also, the new Lake record bass was caught yesterday...13.9? lbs.
Man, sounds like yall had a great day! Thanks for the report. I don't know much about overs and unders but the people from that area, I am sure do.

Hey, any you guys from LA got a good source for cracklins? I had a room mate from Crawley LA and he got me spoiled. I made a trip or two down with him to visit his family, man did I eat good. I ordered from one place and they were so so, not what I was expecting. If any of you know PM me please. I would greatly appreciate it.![]()
Take your kids hunting and fishing, and you won't be hunting your kids
Alot of our lakes up here have slots for the bass. Most of the slot lakes have a slot of 14-17 inches which means that anything between 14 & 17 inches must be released. Legal fish on such a lake must be over 12 inches but not 14 inches & also anything over 17 inches can be kept
man that would be some good eatin i love bass they are my 3rd favorite fish to eat lots of meat on those fish
bet it was a blast catching those......congrats nice fish there
is that a bite...YEAH FISH DONT HAVE HANDS
Way to go man! Not only an awesome day of fishing but came in first in a tournament. Thats the kind of good feeling that don't go away for a while.
