I've caught a few small bass on crappie jigs. what other lures will catch bass?
Panfishing is fun!
I use a Ultra-Light spinning combo for about 90% of my fishing here in North Texas. I think I would be hard pressed to find a more deadly bait than a RR Jig with a Curl Tail Grub. Another although pricey bait that was brutally effective on Bass this year was the Rapahla X-5 slash bait I believe it was...it was the small 7 gram size which is a 1/4 ounce and about 2.5 inches long. Another one that worked well was a 3/16th Chatterbait jig head with a small 3 inch Fluke threaded on it. I landed 1/2 pounders all the way up to 6 pounders on these lures using this combo with 4 lbs test line and had more fun than I have had in years doing it.
Rapalas xrsh 8 in blk/gold
and you can't beat a tex rig senko watermelon/blk flakes
those two did great this past year
Try a Manns-1 crankbait. Color of firetiger. Crank it fast with a stop and go motion.
I like the chrome and blue Rat-L-Trap, except in the winter.

a big paca craw cant be beat
You can't beat the taste of them ole fried SLABS N TATERS!!
Here in the fall you can't beat a 3/4 oz floating Rattle Trap for good Bass in shallow water.
i know while im at the tackle shop alot of guys are buying Lucky Craft and Mega Bass crank baits...they say there is nothing like them...they are costly tho...$15-35 per Crank Bait...but these guys and big money fishers...i always do good with a 1/16oz bullet weight and 1/0 hook with a orange 3in curly tail

AT academy sports they sell a series of crankbaits called H2O, the are identicle to Lucky Craft and about one third the price, i would not be surprised if lucky craft didnt make them.

I use a lot of the Rebel Wee R lures for cranks but I mainly fish texas rigged worms and creature baits. Bottom line for me is a 75-25 ratio using soft plastics.
Im sure Lucky Craft is good but my buddy across the street bought a few as he tourney fishes and found no response from the bass worth buying any more.
