Thread: FFA and Corp. of Engineers Crappie Condo Project

Great idea, and I'm glad to see the Corps of Engineers endorsing this. I live in Conwqy and am retired, so if you need extra manpower, let me know and I will be glad to come down and help. What is your projected timetable on the project?

This project is finished. We might do this again in the spring, on a much smaller scale.

Sorry,AgriHawg. I just didn't read far enough, or far enough back. I see now that this is a done deal. My hat is off to you for all the work you and the students did, and to the folks at the Corps of Engineers for allowing and participating in the project. This may be in the thread somewhere as I skipped a few pages, but were the coordinates of the condos posted? If so, where can I find them?

All requests for the coordinates have been sent up to this point. If you haven't received an e-mail from me and you asked for them....PM me again.

"ski trip" has PM'ed and been taken care of.

There will be almost 400 crappie condos placed into area lakes this spring.
100 in Lake Greeson
200 in Lake Ouachita
80 in Degray Lake

I'll be in charge of building the condos for Degray again this year. Our FFA chapter will build and help place 80 bamboo crappie condos in Degray Lake. We're gonna be running a little later this year compared to last. We placed all of the condos into Degray at the end of March last spring. I'm guessing it will be April before we get them in the water this spring.

Once again, I'll be giving out waypoints to all of the condos. As soon as I get them from the various lakes I'll let everyone know.

The NEW waypoints for OUACHITA, DEGRAY, & GREESON will be ready in a FEW MONTHS.
I do not have them now.
If you want the old waypoints for Degray & Greeson I will mail them to you. Just PM me.

Sorry, but I've gotten tired of people not reading my posts entirely and thinking I've got waypoints that I do not have.

Hey AgriHawg, I'm a graduate of Glenwwood High Class of '82 and I'm going to be camped at Kirby Landing the week of 3/28-4/3. Any shallow water condos put out that you can tell me about?

Just wanted to let you know that i would be willing to help out putting out the condos when you get ready. I'm new to crappie fishing, like this is my first year trying it, and would love to help and learn a little while doing it.

UPDATE: We currently have 36 crappie condos built for Degray Lake. Only 44 more to build.

I know Mt. Ida FFA was making good progress last time I talked to them. However, I haven't got an update lately on the other schools, so I'm not sure how they're doing.

I'll put out a notice when I get waypoints from them.
