Would really appreciate GPS cordinates for Lake DeGray.

Thanks arkie...but I'm really just a piddler...lol. He was asking me this weekend at our showteam cookout if we had one. Wish I could help him out. He has worked his butt off on this project. He used to get onto me about getting burnt out...but he needs to be careful himself. He is really doing a fantastic job with it though.
He has really become an asset over at Centerpoint. Not bad for a first year guy huh!! They have quite the operation going on. I know you guys will and already have...but give him a pat on the back. Hope he'll be at crappie camp. I'm planning on it myself. Gotta get a hook wet...so many irons in the fire I haven't had a chance too....not a word hawg...lol...![]()

Well, we are back in business! I got the concrete mixer fixed today. Turns out it was missing a pin that keeps the pulley from spinning on the shaft of the motor. I guess we've been using it so much that it worked it's self loose and fell out at some point. Found a pin and got it replaced. We should have the remaining 30 crappie condos poured sometime next week.

The Corp came by this morning and picked up 17 crappie condos. They are supposed to come back this afternoon for another load. I'll keep you guys updated as this project continues.

The last of the bamboo has been cut, hauled to school, and made into Crappie Condos. Now all that is left is to get them into Lake Greeson.
btw.....I've e-mailed everyone the waypoints that has PM'd me up to this point.
J
If not too late-have you considered the south end of Greeson in the not so deep areas? Jerry and Darrel have the north end covered.
The Corp is picking the spots. If I get a chance I'll run it by them. I know that they have about 35 Crappie Condos stored at their headquarters near Narrows. So they may be planning on putting them in down the lake. Not sure.
BTW....some of the Corp guys check-in on here. They're excited about all of the positive feedback/response there has been.

Talked with the Johnny today with the Corp. He said they've done some sonar work already to find some places to put the condos. I know he mentioned the Swaha area and somewhere around point 10, if that makes any sense to you. (I've only been on Greeson 4 or 5 times, so I'm not real familiar with the locations. I know Swaha is the marina down near the dam. I think he said there was some places marked with signs on the lake where the AGFC had put structure. He said they would probably put some back in those locations. He mentioned a creek, but I cant remember the name. Don't think it was Rock, Bear, or Self though, cause I know those places.

[QI will provide my manpower. What date and location?
UOTE=AgriHawg;683512]The Centerpoint FFA will be partnering with the Corp of Engineers to build approximately 160 bamboo crapI will pie condos. These condos will be placed in Lake Degray and Lake Greeson. This project has already been approved by the Corp. They will be providing the concrete, while the FFA will provide the buckets, bamboo, and manpower.
All of the spots where crappie condos are dropped will be marked by GPS. The Corp will make these coordinates available to the public. I'll make sure to get them and post the waypoints on here.
I will be the one coordinating the logistics of this project. Starting off, I'm trying to find plenty of 5 gallon buckets and bamboo. We'll probably cut a lot of the bamboo off of my property, but I'm sure we'll need more. I'm pretty sure the school cafeteria and a local bakery can supply us with enough buckets. (I hope!)
This should be a great learning experience for the students. I'll try to keep everyone updated on the progress of this project.
*pending my high school principals approval, which shouldn't be a problem*[/QUOTE]
Is my help needed? If so, where and when?
