agrihawg, jerry, darryl & anyone else who may be able to help,

I was surfing today during the cold day today & found some markers for fish shelters on the coe website for degray. I've opened up the files (pdf's) but can't read the numbers for the gps points. here is the link.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers -- Vicksburg District

Any idea on how to open them up w/ easy gps & plug them into the unit? I have a Ifinder, and have been able to drop in the points that jerry & darryl have given out over the last few years. Just trying to find more points for degray. can't wait to see agrihawgs points, too. very much appreciated.

thanks darryl. I had to upgrade my adobe reader to see those points. it seems that adobe5 wouldn't read it, so I had to get the latest reader for the lat/long numbers to even show up.

well, I tried to enter these waypoints from the corp of engineers into my lowrance h20 ifinder, to find out that the numbers are not correct. when i entered them, they wind up on dry ground. I also tried entering them into easygps and exporting them to my gps, and same thing. the numbers do not add up. dissapointing.

they might be in a different projection type (Nad 83, WGS64, etc...) THis is basically another format for the coordinates

Yes, you have to change the coordinate format to get them to work properly(Edit, preferences, my coordinate formats). I had to play with it for a while to make it work. I manually entered them into easy GPS and I have attached my file. You can download it so you don't have to enter them if you would like. Just don't get too mad if I made a typo. I did check them by clicking the "view online" option and they look to be correct.

    demolition man,

Thanks for that. I was planning on doing that very thing. I wanted to give everyone those points that didn't have them, and you've done it.

We're going to the Lake Degray with 80 bamboo crappie condos this Thursday! I'll post the waypoints soon as we get them together!
